Should you Handcuff Deji Karim to Maurice Jones-Drew?

Now that Rashad Jennings is out for the year, it is time to handcuff Deji Karim to Maurice Jones-Drew.  Jones-Drew is still a significant injury risk following offseason surgery to his knee.  He is a small, but bruising back that takes a physical pounding.  Last season, he was rumored to have been playing with a bone-on-bone situation in his knee.  I’m not an expert, but I know that is not a good thing for a 26-year-old to already be fighting.  You have to assume there is a risk that he will miss at least some playing time this season.  Even if he does not, he will almost certainly need to share some carries with another back even if he stays healthy for the year.  Right now, Karim is that back.  Karim is inexperienced as a rusher, but had an impressive college career and turned out a 4.4 40-yard dash at the combine and was solid in the kicking game last year
